Prasad Beaven
“To paint a landscape is to paint oneself”.
- Huang Yan -
Born in London in 1994, Prasad spent 6 years of his childhood studying in India, the foothills of the Himalayas. This early immersion in the mountains fostered a love for the majestic beauty nature has to offer. As a practitioner of meditation, he emphasizes the importance of his inner well-being and strives to constantly achieve a state of peace, knowing that this will permeate into his artwork.
The catalyst of Prasad Beaven’s art is nature.
He is drawn to expressing the essence of nature’s forms, mountains, streams, trees and clouds through ink and watercolour. Each piece straddles abstraction and realism, inspired by the interplay of opposites he endeavours to highlight the forces of Yin and Yang through brush and ink. He has won many awards including Ciclitira Prize 2021 (presented by HRH Prince Charles), The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship 2019-2021, The Schminke Award 2024 - 'Innovative use of Watercolour'.
